Itinerary:
Monday: Travel to Dover for an afternoon sea crossing to France. Short onward journey to the Chateau which is near the historic town of St Omer. 4 nights DBB.
Tuesday: A visit to see how traditional Fench cheese is made including a tour and video. Continue for a visit to a chocolate producer for a guided visit.The afternoon will be spent in the fashionable resort of Le Touquet.
Wednesday: A morning visit to a maker of fine ceramics in the pretty market town of Desvres before moving on to Boulogne for a tour of the wonderful 13th century walled Old Town. Free time afterwards for sightseeing and shopping.
Thursday: Morning free in St Omer. Afternoon to another historic town, Arras, famed for its underground tunnels and lovely town square.
Friday: Discover the art of coffee making and tasting with a visit to a local merchant, then to Calais before return crossing and travel homeward.

Chateau Tilques
This beautiful 4* chateau lies in delightful grounds with its own small lake, near St Omer. The hotel's main facilities are in the chateau itself and include a stylish restaurant and comfortable lounge. The bedrooms are in the Pavilion du Parc which is adjacent to the chateau where the rooms are of a very high standard, all en-suite with TV. There is no lift but several rooms in the Pavilion are on the ground floor. Wine is included with dinner each evening. |
